The City of Burbank has an opening for an Assistant or Senior Assistant City Attorney. Admission to the Bar of the State of California is required and five years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: land use/real property, CEQA review, housing, public works construction, procurement and compliance, drafting regulatory ordinances, and/or any other area of law that will prove beneficial to a municipal practice. Position primarily involves transactional/advisory work to City departments, City Council, and staffing various boards and commissions. A broad range of municipal law-related assignments such as drafting/reviewing contracts/ordinances and advising on the Brown Act, Public Records Act and conflict of interest. Candidates should either have a working knowledge of these topics or be prepared to quickly develop such knowledge. Candidates must have excellent legal writing, research, analysis, and communication skills, and be able to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team. The monthly salary range for an Assistant City Attorney is $12,329.74 - $16,213.60. The Senior Assistant City Attorney salary range is $14,295.32 - $18,798.35.
